Objectives

 Course content

  • Overview of the range of digital communication channels used in business and professional transactions
  • The increasing importance of professional writing in the constantly evolving business landscape
  • The four types of business writing: informational, instructional, persuasive and transactional
  • 6-step process to ensure effective and impactful written communication at all times:
    • Identify the reader’s information needs: primary, secondary and multiple audiences
    • Get the basics right: correct use of language, appropriate layout, respect of corporate image
    • List the key points to be included
    • Write a preliminary draft focussing on the logical ordering of the key points to provide an appropriate response to the target audience’s needs
    • Review in detail the preliminary draft: reorganising the order of content and refining the language used
    • Proof-read the revised draft carefully checking for language and typing errors, readability, and appropriate tone

Duration: 8 hours (Theory: 5 hours - Practical: 3 hours)

Fees: MUR12,000/- per participant
